me n my very good friend, atiqah, talked about an interesting topic while having our lunch earlier this afternoon.
beauty.
haha. well, it stemmed from our prevous encounters with a few of our friends concerning the topic. how do we determine whether someone is pretty/beautiful/handsome/good looking or not?
i dare say the subject is not definite - it's probably the most subjective thing in the world. people used to give this very annoying comments that us girls would prefer our husbands to be handsome. "surely, you want your husbands to be good-looking right?"
the last time i checked, good-lookingness is never a reliable criteria in determining our happiness.
how do i judge the opposite sex? i never do. why? because every time i do, i'd get backfired. my assumptions concerning the male species were, most of the time, always wrong. therefore, when i befriend them, i'll just accept them the way they are. i believe in the concept of friendship of "if u're nice to me, then i'll be nice to u."
so, about this handsome thingy... it's bullshit. and the subject of 'HANDSOME' is completely vague in the first place.
for example, i may find a certain guy to be fugly, but my friends would find him hot and oh-so-attractive & vice versa. i may find some guys to be sexy and appealing but other girls may not have the same opinion and find my kind of 'attractive guy' to be old or unpleasant.
this shit can never be determined accurately.
this dude, for example. he's michael nyqvist, a swedish actor who acted in my favourite swedish film, the girl with the dragon tattoo.
as u can see, he's almost middle-aged. and on the physical side, he doesn't look handsome at all. but wait till u see the movie. he played a journalist named mikael blomkvist and the confidence and character this guy potrayed - he oozed this very charming feeling of deep intelligence n yet a sense of warmth could be felt from his side.
now that's charming for me... n no, not that i generally prefer older man. just that i respect man with maturity, which seems to be lacking in number around me nowadays.
sigh...
moving on to the dark side of life... final exams in less than two weeks. i'm worried sick that i'm not worried at all. study? seems so far away. why can't i just read philosophy, literature and paint all year long... haha, there must be more to life than exams, right? RIGHT??
The only reason Ruby Jusoh needs to kick her butt off real hard to study is to make her parents happy. meaning, she needs a solid reason in order to rebut her parents' constant nagging about her excessive financial spending. getting lots of A's never fails to be a good distraction...
Ruby i have not watch yet girl with the tattoo movie but i already read the book...it is same plot?
ReplyDeleteAnyway...i'm agree with you about "attractive" Most my friend love Cute boy and hot sexy like Jacob from Twilight.. But for me..Handsome guy like Viggo Mortensen or Andrien Brody in Predator. Damn, they are the "male that should look like. Not those cute boy!"...haha..Maybe we like guys who are mature, smart and not look foolish!
No wonder you are so "obsessed" with Prof Shad (err... not his son!). I think that is your taste. Hehehe...
