New Book!
After finishing Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore, I fell victim to one of the dangerous addiction of all times - reading totally puzzling-yet-addictive-super-dark-twisted books.
So I came across this book - The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, recommended by a friend. Since I am slowly developing an interest towards existentialist stuffs [whatever the hell that means], this book should be a great read, apparently. Bought it for around RM35 at Borders, The Gardens, Bangsar.
I've heard of a movie adapted from the book. Since the summary of its plot was revolved around a married man who had an affair with a young woman, I was kinda disinterested. "Another marital affair and sex? Duh, I have my erotic films collection for that."
But then, since it's recommended by a friend who reads a lot [rare to be found here in my country, seriously], therefore there must have been a certain great substantive value to it. And as we all know, movie adaptations can suck big time. A great writer can tell a story about talking cats and make it interesting.
Thus, I am delaying reading Orhan Pamuk's The Museum of Innocence for this existentialist piece of literature.
Read the first page and it seems promising. Could be the next GREAT BOOK THAT CHANGED MY LIFE. Like Murakami's Norwegian Wood and Pamuk's Snow.
Have to wait until Saturday, though. Fucking final exams, I hate you!
