I think everyone wants to save the world.
However, their definition of "WORLD" can be different at times. So many factors are taken into consideration - religion, ethnic, culture, geography, politics etc etc. Therefore, "world" from one's perspective has the potential of being one-dimensional and exclusive. Which is not good.
So many people want to champion their ideals. So many people want to assert and impose their beliefs. So many people want to tell others what is right and what is wrong. So many people are afflicted with preconceived judgment and prejudices towards one another. Understanding seems to be lacking, good faith seems to be a rare thing nowadays. Before thinking that, "Oh, maybe people are inherently good", the thought of "Yes, they are bad and evil" dominates the popular thought.
300,000 people can't possibly share the same exact opinion. 2 million people can't possibly have the same conviction. Human minds are vastly intelligent, not stupidly robotic.
I want those who cruelly harm other people and commit inhumane crimes to be punished. My friend wants to save the earth by preserving the environment. Others want to safeguard the arts. Others want to heal through music and writing and any other talent. Others want to help those in need. Others wants to go to areas of conflict and bring awareness to the people's struggles. Others constantly attempt to improve themselves to become better human beings. Others try to help their families.
Everyone wants to save the world in their own ways. Just because one has a different interest or belief does not mean one is ignorant.
I think I'll have pasta to break my fast later.
